Your Questions, Answered

  • Generally, counselling tends to focus on specific issues in the present (such as anxiety, stress, or a life change), while psychotherapy may explore deeper or longer-standing patterns and past experiences.

I use the term ‘therapy’ to refer to all the work I do, and draw from each approach depending on your needs.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long and tend to be weekly. We will either meet in person in Bedminster, Bristol or via Zoom online.

I will listen, reflect, offer observations and gently challenge. I may offer grounding techniques and psychoeducation if it feels appropriate. Therapy is collaborative and it does require your engagement/commitment. It can be uncomfortable and painful, but I will be alongside you. Through the experience of our relationship you will be able to explore difficulties and make sense of what’s troubling you.

  • I work with individuals 16 years old and above.

  • How long we work together will ultimately be up to you. I work open ended, and will offer regular opportunities to review our work together to ensure you are getting what you need.

You can end at any time. I recommend a planned ending as these are part of the therapeutic process.

  • Sessions cost £60.

If cost is a barrier for you, please get in touch. I have a limited number of spaces at a reduced fee.

  • If you are interested in working together the next step is to organise a free initial consultation. This usually lasts up to 20 minutes and is an opportunity to explore together what you’re looking for and to find out if the way I work feels right for you.

We can do this over the phone or via video call depending on what feels most comfortable for you.
