Hi, I’m Isabel (she/her)
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, offering a compassionate & reflective space to help develop and strengthen your sense of self.
Practice
My practice is grounded in person-centred theory, which means our work together will be guided by you. Healing takes place in the relationship we build, and I’ll work alongside you to nurture that connection with compassion, acceptance, and honesty.
In addition to person-centred practice, I have trained in other therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic and gestalt. I draw flexibly from these different theories to tailor my approach to your individual needs. My work is trauma-informed, and I place great importance on creating a safe, gentle space where healing can happen without causing further harm.
Me
I am a registered member of the BACP, working in accordance with their ethical framework. At various stages of my life I have personally benefitted from therapy. My commitment to ongoing personal and professional development enables me to grow alongside my clients.
I have a special interest in Motherhood. The term ‘matrescence’ has gained popularity in recent years, and refers to the messy and miraculous process of becoming a Mum. There is a lack of space, reflection and value given to this huge life giving and altering time, often leading to isolation and shame. Wherever you find yourself on this journey, you are welcome here.
Experience
I have a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and over a decade’s experience working in charities, supporting a diverse range of young people and adults through challenging times. Issues I have worked with individuals on include:
Anxiety . Low Mood & Depression . Low Self-Esteem & Self-Worth . Grief & Loss . Gender Identity . Relationship Difficulties . Health Issues . Sexual Abuse & Trauma
